Happy Abode is a video I produced as one of the many stages of a job application for a competitive journalism role. I may not have gotten the job, in the end, but I am incredibly proud of this piece, which I produced in under one week.
In less than 7 days, I made connections with the Sachdev family, convinced them to let me into their lives and tell their story, interviewed, filmed, and edited this short video. Meeting this family and telling their story has been the most rewarding part of this entire job application process.
The project, entitled Happy Abode, is shown here in imperfect form — exactly as I submitted it to the potential employer. I think the imperfections show what I am capable of as a one-woman-team in a very short amount of time.
Happy Abode is about a family and their fight to find a better tomorrow for people living with disabilities and seniors.
