Welcome to my website! I am an enthusiastic and driven educator, storyteller, researcher, and emerging filmmaker. With an M.A. in History + a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University and a PGCE from the University of Sunderland, I have extensive experience as an educator at both the secondary and post-secondary levels.
For the past several years, I have worked as a secondary school teacher, specializing first in English language and literature and now in humanities (history, classical studies, social studies). In these roles, I have developed a passion for pastoral care, supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of my students. I believe strongly in creating engaging, student-centered learning environments that foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love of lifelong learning. My experience in journalism and print has helped me greatly in my role as Yearbook Coordinator at my school.
Building from an interest in Hong Kong, diaspora studies, performance theory, and oral histories, my past research explored cultural communities and the ways in which movement, migration, and identity formation intersect. I have produced 3 award-winning documentary films surrounding these themes.
On this website, you will find my CV, portfolio, photography, and general musings. Thank you for visiting.
